Yikes...

Everyone says that kids grow-up too fast, these past few weeks have made that real in a whole new way to Eric and I.

A month ago, it never would have crossed my mind that we'd be where we are today.

It's been weeks since Annie has slept in her crib.
In the last week, she's gone four days without nursing and nursed only once on the other three.

And, tonight, after I got Annie undressed and ready for bath, she said "poop." I asked if she needed to go, and she said "yes." Her potty chair (for lack of other space) has been in her closet, and every once in awhile, she likes to go sit on it. Tonight, that's where she wanted to go. Then, she wanted the door closed (her own little bathroom), and then she pooped in the potty chair. We've talked about potty training things, Annie's been interested for the past few months. We've read some books, chatted lots, let her curiosity drive things. But, in general, we decided we weren't going to really push things till it gets warmer and Annie's not in layer after layer of clothes to have to remove. We'll probably still stick with this, and see what else happens. She was pretty proud of herself, and we were all pretty excited.

Too much information for the Internet? Perhaps. But, it definitely was our big excitement for the day.

It's been quite a month...

Congratulations! Potty training was without doubt my LEAST favorite part of mothering, but it's so awesome once you're on the other side.

Go, Annie! :)

Yea Annie! Isn't it amazing that one can get so excited over body functions. Ah, motherhood joys.

I agree. Potty training was the worst mothering moment for me too (so far). It's a good thing it's her idea. She'll be much more successful. Good luck!
