We had a wonderful December, celebrating Christmas with family and friends all month long. Annie and Siri, of course, make everything more fun. This year, we especially enjoyed Annie getting involved with picking presents for loved ones (when we asked what she wanted to get Siri, she responded without hesitation "pants" and when asked what type, her response was just as quick: "magenta").
The weekend before Christmas, we enjoyed our friends' annual Christmas dinner, Christmas with Eric's mom at our house, and Christmas with Eric's dad and brothers at his dad's house. We all loved the chance to get caught up with people, play a little Candyland, and celebrate the holiday together.
Then, we packed our bags and headed to Arizona. We got there a little bit closer to Christmas than usual, so we jumped right into festivities when we arrived. We got to visit with cousins--Annie especially enjoyed playing with cousin Anna, just 4 months older than her--aunts, uncles, my Grandma and Jack, and some friends. But mostly, we stuck close to home, and played in the backyard, at nearby parks, we baked and cooked and danced and read. A couple of days after Christmas, my sister and her family arrived, and we loved getting some time with them, too.
Annie enjoyed lighting our Advent candle all month long, and opening the doors of her Advent calendar. She loved to hear the story of baby Jesus, and talking about the kind things we can do for each other. Siri loved to look at lights, at ornaments, and hear Annie and Daddy play the piano and sing. Eric and I enjoyed watching the two of them, and wondering at our many blessings.
