Spring Break and Easter

After Annie's Birthday, we launched right into Spring Break. We didn't travel this year, and were happy that Minnesota stayed nice and warm for most of the break. The girls played a lot together around the house--dancing, singing, make-believe, coloring, etc. We met Emily, Ella, and Jack one morning at the flower shower at Macy's. It had a Brazil theme and we enjoyed looking at all the tropical plants, and hearing Brazilian drumming.

The girls were quite excited that we had a dentist trip worked into the week. For Siri, it was her first time to the dentist. She watched as Annie had her appointment first (where we learned that--eek!--one of her teeth is a little loose! This was quite exciting for Annie, and a little crazy for Eric and I to hear!), and then Siri did a great job; sitting still (and quite serious) while she had her teeth cleaned and then checked by the dentist. Role-playing dentist has reemerged as a favorite past time.

On the night before Easter, we had Eric's mom, Barb, and cousin Emily over to dye Easter eggs and celebrate Easter together.

Even though we were sad not to be in AZ , we had a lovely Easter. We checked out our Easter baskets, Skyped with my parents, brother and his new baby, hunted for a few eggs, and then ran out the door to church. We enjoyed breakfast there, Annie sang and Eric drummed at both services, and the girls looked for Easter Eggs and had fun playing in with all the kids. We returned home to look for the eggs that were outside, and then headed over to Eric's dad for Easter dinner. We arrived home at 5:30, and the girls were exhausted enough that we skipped right over dinner (we were all too full anyway) and were in bed by 6:05.
Both girls got umbrellas and had lots of fun pretending it was raining, and that they were Mary Poppins.
