Summer comes to an end...

Well, it finally feels like summer in Minnesota, just in time to say good-bye to it. Tomorrow begins our schedule of fall classes, Tuesday marks the beginning of a season filled with travel...So, we've a good couple of weeks saying good-bye to summer. We've kept up our usual routine of walks around the neighborhood, trips to local parks, and play in the backyard.

Annie's very much enjoying the world of watercolor paints, of "doing dishes", "driving" the car, "working" on the computer. Lately, she's begun helping to make her bed, and (oh, brother!) can open the refridgerator.

Siri is getting smilier, more communicative and stronger daily. And, today (yes, here's the big news!!) she rolled over! Her Nana (Eric's stepmom) got to see it, and the rest of us will be watching closely for roll over #2. We've been anticipating that this would be soon, as all week she's looked close...it's still hard to believe that she's getting so big.

Highlights of this past week of course include watching the girls interact more and more, but also a trip to our nearest lake with friends Ani, Norah, and Deb, dinner and bathtime with Ella, a trip to the University of Minnesota's Landscape Arboretum (where Annie enjoyed practicing one of her newest skills: identifying conifer and deciduous trees and Siri had her first ride in the stroller sans carseat), and Annie and Eric and Papa took advantage of the beautiful weather to take a bike ride.

Congratulations, Siri, on rolling over - has it happened again??? And congratulations, Annie on learning to open the fridge! I remember when each of the boys figured that out - we promptly got a latch to keep it closed, and they, of course, promptly figured out the latch. Can't wait to see you SOON!!!
