Halloween

Annie had a lot of fun preparing for Halloween this year--she loved looking at pumpkins, talking about costumes, and practicing saying "trick or treat."

This year, Annie was Minnie Mouse and Siri was a bluebird. We had a brief visit with Uncle Jeff and Cousin Emily, and then Papa and Nana in the morning, and then both girls took their naps and we headed off for our Halloween Adventures.

We met up with good friends at an orchard a bit south. It was cold and blustery, but that did not seem to matter much to the kids who enjoyed looking at each others' costumes, tossing bean bags, looking at some animals, and--the activity which was most popular--going again and again through a tunnel covered in corn stalks (it was good wind protection). It was fun to see the kids all enjoying themselves, and fun to catch-up with the parents.

After the orchard, we headed down to Greg, Ashley and Lily's new home and had a nice evening with pizza, tasty apples, carmel, and cheese from the orchard, and delicious pumpkin pie that Ashley made. Annie did a bit of trick-or-treating with Ella and Lily (and the dads) around the campus of the boarding school where Greg is teaching. She had a blast, and promptly came into the house, sat on the couch and chose a Butterfinger to eat. Since eating that piece, she seems to have forgotten that she got any candy. We think that's the best for her health and teeth, and are having no problem helping the rest of it disappear--for her sake, of course.

The girls and I all fell asleep on the drive home, and then Annie actually slept till 7:30 (new time!) the next morning, I was awake at 7 wondering what could possibly be wrong with her...
