We spent the month of May enjoying life as a family of three (trying to give Annie lots of normalcy before life as she knew it changed) and preparing for the arrival of baby Siri.
In the past two months, we've been amazed at Annie's changes. She's become so articulate, so bold, and moves through life with an incredible new energy (she's always been energetic, but this energy is so much more focused). Her creative/imaginative play is becoming full, and she loves making us laugh. She sings constantly, dances frequently, and recited nursery rhymes regularly. She loves to find letters and numbers, to name colors and shapes, to find bugs outside and is always in a state of discovery. It is an amazing world to be a part of.
She enjoyed her classes this spring a lot. She attended music class again, though this semester the fun twist was that her Papa took her to class. She loved storytime and always was eager to sit in the front as teacher Cheryl read, and loved the art projects. She loved waking up Tuesday mornings anticipating Papa's arrival and music class, and was always quite curious about what car they would take (Papa or Annie's?). Annie and I loved our ECFE class this semester, she did far more interacting with other children than in past classes, and would continue to talk about them (not just the teachers as had been our previous trend) after class. She was sad to see them both come to an end, but we'll come pack to them in the fall. In the meanwhile, she and Eric are going to do swim lessons this summer.
One of my favorite developments of the month of May was Annie's new love of The Sound of Music. How could I not love that she's doing her very best to learn all the words to "Do-Re-Mi," giggles at "The Lonely Goatherd," and wants be to sing "So Long, Farewell" for lullabies. At this point, it's really the only TV she has any time or interest for, and cuddling in the morning while we get our daily dose of music, dance, and the Alps is just fine with me.
My mom arrived mid-May, a week later my dad arrived, and the two days before Siri's arrival, my life-long friend, Julie, arrived to help us all prepare for the birth.
Here are few shots of us relaxing, playing, and getting ready...

Jenia,
Thanks so much for posting! I've been anxious to get a better sense of your last month as a family of three, and these pictures help so much. Annie is just darling! Isn't this transition from toddler to little girl just amazing?! You look gorgeous and happy in all of your cute pregnant pictures, too.
We love all of four of you so much. Siri's present is on the way!
Love,
Tiffy
