We celebrated Siri's one month birthday today. She does look so much bigger, and we know that change will just keep coming, so we're doing our very best to be present amidst all the craziness. The girls continue to do well together, Annie always wants to be a part of diaper changes--entertaining Siri with song and toys, she loves to give her kisses and is the most consistent in getting Siri to smile.
Siri's smiles and cooes are becoming more regular, and it seems she spends a little more of each day in the calm and alert state, taking in the world around her. Sleep is still quite erratic, but we are thankful she does seem to know night from day, and that's enough for now.
Annie's interests remain the same, we are regularly entertained by song and dance and recitations. Her repertoire is getting much more varied, and she's acquired some pretty entertaining dance moves. She's making up more songs, putting new words to familiar tunes, and familiar tunes to her own tunes...For all of her delightful moments, she's been testing her limits a bit more the last couple of weeks, it keeps life interesting! Here are Annie and her friend Kaj, who's just returned from Thailand. We were very happy to welcome him and his family back!
Part of Siri's one month birthday involved a reunion with our Centering Group--a group of women (all due within about a month of each other) and midwife who we met with throughout our pregnancy as opposed to the more traditional doctor's appointments--here are Siri and I with another mother and baby, and with both the midwife who was with us throughout the pregnancy (second from right), and the midwife who delivered Siri (on the left). It was great to see everyone, meet the babies, and hear birth stories. Siri was the youngest baby of the group, and the biggest--still the biggest!!
Happy Fourth of July--We're heading to South Dakota to meet up with my parents and see my sister's new house!

You are wise to record all the little milestones. They come and go so fast. Also, that quilt on Annie's bed is darling. Did you make it?
